1) In order to prepare for your septic pump out, it is important for us to have access to a working
garden hose on site. The technician uses the water to properly clean your tank from years of build
up which sticks to the sides and in the baffle and input pipe of the tank. Without properly cleaning
the tank while pumping it out, it can lead to issues down the road due to the build up..
2) You will need to dig up the lids of the septic tank. You should have 2 lids on your tank as most
tanks consist of 2 lids. If you need help with the digging, our technician will be able to dig for you
at an extra charge.
3) Once you have dug up the 2 lids, please be sure that you clear away any debris that may be
surrounding your septic system. During the cleaning, the covers of the tank will be removed so
the technician can assess the tank to pump the contents out. Any yard debris that falls into the
tank during this process can catastrophically damage your septic components. Particularly in
spring, which is often a time when septic systems need extra attention.
4) Make sure to mark and cover the holes to avoid anyone or anything from accidently hurting
themselves.
